Lauderhill, FL – Lauderhill Healthy You will host “Pass the Mic on Public Health: A Roundtable Discussion on COVID-19” on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 6:00 PM, at City of Grace, 4412 N. University Drive, Lauderhill, FL., to shine a light on Mental Health, Violence Prevention, and Healthy Homes in the city of Lauderhill aiming to raise awareness about the impact of COVID-19.

 

This event promises to be a game-changer, addressing the everyday challenges of communities disproportionately affected by growing health disparities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Additionally, there will be a targeted focus on COVID-19 education, highlighting the latest developments related to the pandemic, vaccine safety, and access to care. Pass the Mic on Public Health aims to unite community leaders, healthcare professionals, advocates, and local experts around this conversation. The evening’s discussion on the state of Black health will include tools and resources that empower the audience to improve their health and well-being, including vaccinations and testing by Compcare.

 

Pass the Mic on Public Health is open to the public—anyone interested in improving their health literacy in relation to COVID-19 and Black health outcomes is encouraged to attend. The City of Lauderhill has been awarded a grant to advance health literacy and enhance equitable community responses to COVID-19. The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health and Office of Minority Health in response to the pandemic’s impact on communities like ours.
