Lauderhill, FL: Lauderhill Healthy You (LHY) advances community health through health literacy, community engagement, and public health strategies, integrating healthier choices into everyday life. Lauderhill Healthy You is proud to present a COVID-19 series of health-focused community events to promote health literacy for a healthier, happier Lauderhill. The broad range of events providing COVID-19 health materials, teach back methodology, surveys, vaccinations, and testing hosted in the heart of the city includes community chats, panel discussions, health summits, and more, to raise awareness on the impact of COVID-19.

 

As the nation continues to recover from the health, social, and economic impacts of COVID-19, post-pandemic conditions have resulted in a steep increase in physical and mental health challenges, especially in communities disproportionately affected by growing health disparities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

About Healthy You Lauderhill

The City of Lauderhill has been awarded a grant to advance health literacy and enhance equitable community responses to COVID-19. The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health and Office of Minority Health in response to the pandemic’s impact on communities like ours.

 

The grant will directly address inequities in racial and ethnic minority populations and other socially vulnerable populations, including racial and ethnic minority communities.
